This Week’s Class Topic is TRUST
Trust your ability to rely on something/someone
When you have trust in your parents/teachers/friends, you know that they will always care for you

When you have trust in yourself, you know that you are always going to do your best

Self-Trust in Taekwondo comes from massive practice – Always train hard so that you can trust in your own abilities.

Trust in ourselves and others allows us to develop a deep sense of belonging. There are some people that we meet and instantly feel that we can trust them. This is because we sense authenticity and sincerity from them. How do we instill this type of Trust in our children?

We allow them to develop a sense of curious confidence. We cannot be interested in the well-being of others if we do not first love ourselves and become confident in ourselves. Our need to be understood must first be met in order for us to want to understand others.

This understanding of the self allows us to first belong to ourselves and then find people who will accept us for who we are instead of looking for people who we can fit in with. The stark contrast between belonging and fitting in is our state of being. When we belong, we know that we are accepted for being ourselves. When we try to fit in, we are trying to be like the others around us.

Trust comes from within. When we trust ourselves, it’ll become easier to trust others because we will be comfortable in our own skin.
